Responsibilities:
1. Plans and develops programs in consultation with the Manager/Director. Plans and
implements program activities and special events that support the mission and vision
of the programs.
2. Formulates policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with
the Manager/Director.
3. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the program by ensuring that the necessary
facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered
to, and program standards are met.
4. Supervises program staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing
feedback on performance, and participating in performance evaluations.
5. Participates in the recruitment and selection of program staff by performing duties
such as screening applicants, participating on interview panels, and making hiring
recommendations.
6. Schedules program staff in accordance to program staffing requirements.
7. Orients, determines the need for and provides training to program staff, volunteers
and practicum students.
8. Oversees the day-today overall case management and administration duties
pertaining to the client. These duties include documentation, report writing, ensuring
timelines are met, communicating and developing ongoing relationships with
internal and external service providers.
9. Trains and mentors staff to be able to support their clients in developing relationships,
independence and employment skills.
10. Carries a caseload of clients participating in the Community Inclusion and
Employment programs.
11. Collaboratively develops individualized service plans and vocational program plan
with the client including life skills, pre-employment skills, access to community and
employment opportunities. Implements, monitors, evaluates and modifies plans.
12. Assists clients to function more independently in their own homes and in the
community by assisting clients in their daily lives by building their skills. Reviews and
evaluates clients’ progress and makes adjustments to programs as required. Provides
feedback and support to clients and/or their families.
13. Ensures that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
14. Identifies social, economic, recreational, physical, vocational and educational
services in the community that will meet clients’ needs.
15. Interviews and assesses clients’ interests, skills and abilities and provides orientation
information. Assessments include barriers to employment. Provides vocational skills
training for clients in accordance with established goals and plans.
16. Facilitates volunteer/employment placements for clients to further his/her skills and
employment related learning.
17. Locates and supports employers in local businesses, industries and community
agencies that match the interests, skills and abilities of clients.
18. Reviews and evaluates job situations and reports on clients’ needs, progress and
work performance.
