Hitch City is a small business. We are fast-paced, professional and customer-centric. At Hitch City, we’ve been in business for over 30 years, we look after retail consumers, fleets and over 150 dealerships across the GTA. We install towing products, Snow plowing equipment, truck accessories, all types of commercial truck upfitting for the various trades. We also have a Landscaping Equipment Division that caters to contractors as well as residential customers.
We are looking for a dependable Certified Automotive Mechanic to join our team in. The successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicle towing accessories issues, such as electrical towing, hitch install and install and repair and certify trailers as well while delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
The position we are looking to fill immediately:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications
- Service brakes, steering, suspension, engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, and other components
- Conduct inspections and road tests to identify safety or performance concerns
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment and shop tools safely
- Prepare accurate estimates and clearly document completed work
- Communicate repair recommendations to service advisors and customers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company procedures and workplace safety requirements
- Stay current with changing automotive technology and repair methods
Qualifications
- Valid automotive mechanic/technician certification licence
- 3 + years of automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working with multiple vehicle makes and models
- Experience working with trailers and trailer electrical preferred
- Ability to operate diagnostic equipment and industry-standard tools
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to perform physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills

Responsibilities:
- Work legally in the Canada
- Complete a full installation of towing and truck accessories and seasonal equipment
- Troubleshoot problems during installation.
- Perform installations using hoists
- Verify that the customer is satisfied with the installation.
- Communicate clearly with the front staff.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $44,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
