The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing both steel and shingle roofing, with standing seam steel experience strongly preferred.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on roofing installation experience
- Experience installing both steel roofing AND shingles
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract — REQUIRED
- Comfortable working at heights and on residential/light-commercial roofs
- Able to safely lift, carry and handle roofing materials
- Able to use roofing hand tools and power tools
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Able to work effectively as part of a roofing crew
- Strong commitment to job-site safety
About the Role
We are seeking a Dual-Skilled Roofing Installer with moderate to advanced roofing installation experience to join our team.
You will work alongside the Site Foreman and roofing crew on residential and light-commercial new construction, renovation and retrofit projects.
The primary focus of this position is steel and asphalt shingle roofing installation, with opportunities to work with additional roofing systems depending on experience.
This is a hands-on field position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working at heights, using roofing tools, handling materials and completing installations to a high standard.
Primary Roofing Skills RequiredStrong experience required in:
- Standing seam steel roofing — PRIMARY SKILL
- Exposed-fastener steel panels
- shingles
Additional experience considered an asset:
- Cedar shakes/shingles
- Composite/rubber roofing panels
- TPO
- EPDM
- Roofing repairs and retrofit work
- Flashing and detail work
- Roof penetrations and weatherproofing
- Carpentry related to roofing installations
Key Responsibilities
- Install standing seam steel, exposed-fastener steel and asphalt shingle roofing systems
- Assist the Site Foreman and crew with daily roofing activities
- Read and follow project specifications, drawings and installation requirements
- Measure, cut and install roofing materials accurately
- Install underlayment, flashing, trim, vents and related roofing components
- Apply caulking, sealants and other weatherproofing materials
- Safely operate roofing hand tools and power tools
- Load, carry and position roofing materials and equipment
- Identify installation problems and troubleshoot issues on site
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable job-site requirements
- Keep the work area clean and organized
- Communicate professionally with the Site Foreman, crew members and customers when required
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety

- A skilled roofer/roofing installer, not primarily a general labourer
- Experienced with both steel and shingle roofing
- Particularly comfortable with standing seam steel
- Able to work independently when given direction
- Comfortable working from ladders, lifts and roof surfaces
- Physically capable of roofing work and material handling
- Detail-oriented and proud of their workmanship
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A strong team player who can take direction from a Site Foreman
- Professional when interacting with customers and coworkers
Certifications & LicensingREQUIRED

The successful candidate may be required to drive company vehicles and/or transport tools and materials to job sites.
Working at Heights
Active Working at Heights certification is preferred.
