Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sandblaster/Spray Painter to join our manufacturing team. This role involves surface preparation and finishing of various components through sandblasting and spray painting techniques. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge, experience with hand and power tools, and familiarity with manufacturing processes. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces of metal or other materials by sandblasting to remove rust, paint, or other contaminants.
- Apply spray paint or coatings using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as sandblasters, spray booths, and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining tools as needed for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Assist with assembly or mechanical tasks when required, utilizing basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Follow safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries during abrasive blasting and painting processes.
- Maintain a clean work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing, machining, or a related mechanical field is preferred.
- Knowledge of using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and machining techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and assembly processes will be considered an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge related to crane operation or forklift handling is a plus but not required.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks are necessary.
- Experience working with surface preparation techniques such as sandblasting and spray painting is preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.
