POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Parts Manager is responsible for the financial performance, personnel development, and the day-to-day activities of the parts department of a branch. This role includes managing inventories located at the branch office, in parts vans, and on consignment. Reporting to this position are any of the following: Parts Supervisor, Parts Customer Care, as well as any Inventory, Warehouse, and Parts Representative Positions.
POSITION DESCRIPTION

Select, train, develop, counsel, and supervise direct reports (parts customer care and warehouse teams).

Conduct meetings with parts personnel to coordinate activities and discuss issues.
-
Coordinate parts department activities with other retail and corporate departments.
-
Work with Branch Service team on improvement initiatives.
-
Set and review parts inventory levels.
-
Monitor and adjust overstocked and understocked parts.
-
Oversee parts fleet vehicle maintenance and periodic return of overstocked items.

Order parts from vendors and review/approve invoices.
-
Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliations.
-
Conduct and participate in parts strategy meetings.
-
Plan account strategy with customer service salespeople and other managers.

Participate in product demonstrations.
-
Maintain direct contact with current or prospective customers.

Participate in customer service for key accounts and complex transactions.

Conduct training on products and techniques.
-
Make compensation recommendations and communicate decisions to direct reports.

Review time and attendance of personnel on a regular basis.

Handle complex personnel situations, such as terminations.

Review parts revenue and cost projections.
-
Prepare and revise budget for Branch Manager.

Track department financial performance and take appropriate actions.

May be responsible for branch facility maintenance and security.

Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOW HOW & EXPERIENCE
-
Post-secondary schooling.
-
Three years of management experience required, preferably in a similar industry.
-
Five to seven years of prior experience in parts distribution preferred.

Valid driver’s license.

Strong understanding of business management, financial, and leadership principles

Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with excellent organizational and planning skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and expectations.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

Frequent use of keyboard and mouse.

Occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Ability to bend, stoop, twist, squat, reach, climb stairs and ladders, and operate lift trucks and service vans.

Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, solvents, fuels, battery acid, and noise pollution.
