Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and patient Music Tutor to provide engaging, hands-on instruction in piano, drums, and other musical instruments. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and youth of all abilities, including individuals with special needs, and focuses on developing practical playing skills, confidence, creativity, and a love of music through individualized instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach piano, drums, and other musical instruments based on the instructor’s expertise.
- Provide one-on-one and small-group music lessons.
- Focus on practical instrument skills, rhythm, coordination, and performance rather than formal music theory.
- Adapt lessons to meet each student’s age, learning style, interests, and abilities.
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students of all abilities, including those with autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, and other special needs.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, confidence, and enjoyment through music.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents or caregivers.
- Prepare students for informal performances or recitals when appropriate.
- Maintain musical instruments and teaching materials in good condition.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching piano, drums, or other musical instruments.
- Experience working with children and youth with special needs is an asset.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
- Passion for music education and helping students succeed.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in multiple musical instruments.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $20.00 per hour
