Salary - Base hourly rate - $36.85 / hour (excluding RSB / OT)
Hourly rate with shift bonus paid on all hours worked-$38.98
Base Bi-weekly salary - $2948.36 (excluding RSB / OT)
Salary with shift bonus paid on all hours worked- $3274.49
Shift - 12 hour rotating continental shift - Crew to be determined
General Description:
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Compliance with all plant safety policies
- Compliance with all applicable GQMTS / QAI / legal requirements and record retention
- Tire Testing System - document results for all tire wheel tests, complete package and report results.
- Collect appropriate tires for production monitor testing-tire wheel tests/CTA/Low Profile Tires / New Tire Release
- Perform tire mounting and loading tires on resiliometer
- Perform tire labelling, measurements and document results
- Perform tire footprint test and document results
- Perform bead unseat and plunger tests and document results
- Perform High Speed / Load Speed and Endurance tests, perform inspections and document results
- Perform World Class Appearance audits (As Produced and As Shipped) on plant floor
- Perform cut tire analysis using CTMAS and scanner for production monitoring and development.
- Perform X-Ray ratings for production tires based on the provided schedule, document results for feedback
- Disposition and disposal of any non-conforming product
- Initiate Product Quality Alert if tire containment is necessary based on audit findings
- Interface with Plant Quality Leader, Quality Support Coordinator, Quality Technicians, Team Leaders, Production Technicians, Production Support Technicians, Shift Operations Managers and Manufacturing Unit staff on a continuous basis for matters concerning process performance and product acceptability
- Teach, mentor and provide feedback to Production Technicians regarding internal process and product specs as well as customer requirements
- Review and analysis of non-compliant, customer return or warranty tires
- Complete New Product Industrialization activities as scheduled or required
- Perform X-Ray for development tires prior to shipping for submission, document results for feedback
- Document build tire matrix to ensure 100% of development tires are contained, document and report results
- Record uniformity data for developmental builds
- Collect tires, arrange shipments and document results for special shipments
- Participate in standard work instructions and continuous improvement activities for tire testing lab
- Ownership of the tire test lab equipment and housekeeping
Preferred Qualifications:
- University or College degree, ranking will be higher for a technical degree
- Tire manufacturing process knowledge and experience in more than one area of the plant
- Experience as a SQL, Quality Technician, Quality Leader or a backup in one of these roles at Goodyear Napanee
- Previous technical experience and an aptitude for troubleshooting and continuous improvement
- An understanding of the plant process and product specifications
- Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer and organizational skills
- The ability to work independently and act on own initiative in support of team-based objectives
