Best Friends Children’s Centre is looking for one experienced Infant & Toddler Educator to join our licensed group childcare team.
We are looking for a confident, caring educator who enjoys working with infants and toddlers, communicates exceptionally well with families, and is looking for a stable, long-term position with a supportive team.
We are not in a rush to fill this position — our priority is finding the right fit.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and Infant & Toddler Educator (ITE) certification
- Proven experience in a licensed group childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of infant and toddler development, routines and responsive caregiving
- Excellent parent communication and relationship-building skills
- Dependable, professional and consistent
- Positive team approach and willingness to contribute to the classroom and centre
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Current First Aid and ability to complete a Criminal Record Check
The Role
As an Infant & Toddler Educator, you will provide warm, responsive and developmentally appropriate care while creating a safe and engaging environment for young children.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing age-appropriate learning experiences
- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development
- Managing daily routines including meals, naps, diapering and personal care
- Maintaining active supervision and required staff-to-child ratios
- Observing and documenting children's development
- Providing thoughtful, professional communication to parents about their child's day, development and well-being
- Maintaining accurate classroom, incident and licensing documentation
- Working collaboratively with educators and centre leadership
- Maintaining a clean, organized and welcoming classroom
- Following centre policies, licensing requirements and health and safety procedures
