Pay: $18–$25/hour, based on experience

Our After School Sports Programs provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment where participants build confidence, develop skills, and create lasting friendships.
Position Summary
Play Forever is hiring a Program Manager to oversee and manage our after school sports programs in Toronto and York Region. The Program Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring all programs run smoothly, supervising and supporting on-site staff, and ensuring full compliance with PlayForever’s policies and procedures at all times. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, organized leader who is passionate about youth development, sport, and community impact.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Program Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Program Oversight & Delivery
· Oversee the planning, delivery, and day-to-day operation of all assigned after school sports programs
· Ensure programs are delivered consistently, safely, and in line with PlayForever’s quality standards
· Conduct regular site visits to monitor program sessions and address any operational issues as they arise
· Support Program Leads and Program Support Staff in the planning and execution of activities, games, and drills
Staff Supervision & Management
· Supervise, support, and provide guidance to Program Leads and Program Support Staff across all program sites
· Conduct regular check-ins, performance feedback, and on-site observations of staff
· Schedule and coordinate staff coverage across multiple program locations
· Support the onboarding, training, and mentorship of new staff
Compliance & Policy Enforcement
· Ensure all staff comply with PlayForever’s policies — including the Abuse Prevention & Response Protocol, Code of Conduct, and health & safety procedures — at all times while on site
· Conduct regular site visits to confirm policy adherence and address any concerns immediately
· Ensure all required documentation (incident reports, attendance, VSC, certifications) is collected, accurate, and up to date
· Escalate any safety, child-protection, or staff conduct concerns immediately in accordance with Play Forever’s protocols
Reporting & Communication
· Serve as the primary point of contact for program-related questions, concerns, or escalations from staff, parents, and school or community partners
· Provide regular updates and reports to the Director of Programs & Operations on program performance, staffing, and any issues
· Communicate openly and professionally with staff, participants, parents, and partner organizations
· Support end-of-program reporting, surveys, and evaluation processes
Required Standards & Compliance
The Program Manager Must:
· Adhere to all policies in the PlayForever Staff & Volunteer Onboarding Handbook
· Comply with and enforce the PlayForever Abuse Prevention & Response Protocol at all times
· Uphold and model the PlayForever Staff Professional Code of Conduct in all interactions
· Ensure consistent policy compliance across all assigned program sites
· Return all required documents signed after carefully reviewing them prior to the start date
Qualifications & Requirements
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must be mobile / able to drive — program sites are located at multiple different locations
· A valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required prior to the start date
· Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification is considered a strong asset (or willingness to obtain)
· Previous experience managing or supervising staff in a sport, recreation, camp, or youth-serving setting is strongly preferred
· Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts professionally
· Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full duration of the program (July & September 2026 – June 2027)
· Ability to remain calm, decisive, and responsible in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
