Job Description: Personal Trainer and Falls Prevention leadPosition Overview
We are looking for a personable, motivated, and reliable Certified Personal Trainer with 4 + years of experience to join our team of fitness professionals. This role involves a specialized focus on leading, managing, and expanding our successful Falls Prevention Program for seniors. This role may include minimum 1-2 shifts as an MSR.
Key Responsibilities: Personal Training
- Develop and implement customized fitness plans tailored to individual client needs, goals, and health conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by building rapport, motivating clients, and ensuring a positive experience.
- Educate clients on proper exercise techniques, safety precautions, and lifestyle modifications to support long-term health.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and team members to optimize client outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of client sessions, progress notes, and program updates.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding group classes or educational workshops on fall prevention strategies.
- Promote a welcoming environment that encourages client engagement and adherence to fitness routines.
Falls Prevention Lead:
- Management: Manage, expand and sustain our established Falls Prevention Program, including curriculum development, organization, and sustainability.
- Program Instruction: Lead 45-minute classes focused on increasing strength, mobility, and balance for a diverse population, including seniors and individuals with diverse needs and / or disabilities. Classes may be prepared during desk hours in the event your employment includes 5-10 hours of MSR.
- Client Assessment: Conduct functional mobility assessments and provide personalized guidance to improve spatial awareness and self-efficacy.
- Community Advocacy: Represent the facility at community events, delivering lectures on active aging and health promotion strategies.
- Team Collaboration: Act as a team player, assisting with marketing fitness promotions and potentially managing front desk duties.
Responsibilities/ Skills
- Proven experience as a personal trainer or fitness instructor with knowledge of exercise science principles.
- Experience in teaching or instructing groups or individuals with diverse needs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to motivate and inspire clients.
- Effective time management skills to coordinate sessions efficiently.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to guide clients through safe exercise practices and fall prevention techniques.
- Certifications in personal training or related fields are preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to client health and safety.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years in personal training/fitness (required), with a strong interest or training in older adult/senior fitness (preferred).
- Certification: Valid Nationally recognized Personal Training Certificate (required).
- Skills: Strong leadership, critical thinking, compassionate communication, and the ability to adapt approaches for varied cognitive and psychosocial needs.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Starting rates for PT range from $20 - $24 per hour depending on qualifications. Front desk hours are paid at $18 per hour.
