Job description
Reporting to the COO and Co-Founder, the Senior Operations Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing an average Profit & Loss (P&L), and specifically reaching the EBITDA set out by the company. Responsible for all people related decisions including but not limited to hiring, counseling, performance management, development, promotions, and terminations. Accountable for the cash management for each restaurant, inventory regulation, labor scheduling, developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, repairs and maintenance of restaurants, and cost analysis. Also responsible for the onboarding processes for new employees. Has management responsibilities for a team of professionals (includes people, budget and planning).
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Establishes restaurant business plan by surveying restaurant demand; conferring with people in the community; identifying and evaluating competitors; preparing financial, marketing, and sales projections, analyses, and estimates.
- Attracts customers by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Developing and Implementing Strategy: The senior operations manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will increase efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and drive revenue growth.
- Managing Food Cost and Labor: The senior operations manager must effectively manage food costs and labor expenses to ensure that the business is operating within budget and maximizing profitability. This includes monitoring inventory levels, analyzing sales data, and adjusting staffing levels as needed.
- Technical Back-of-House Operations: The senior operations manager must have a strong technical understanding of back-of-house operations, including kitchen equipment and systems, food preparation and storage, and health and safety regulations.
- Lead and Manage Teams: The senior operations manager is responsible for leading and managing teams of employees, ensuring that they are properly trained, motivated, and equipped to deliver excellent customer service.
- Monitoring and Improving Operations: The senior operations manager must continuously monitor and assess the operations of the business, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Compliance with Regulations: The senior operations manager must ensure that the business is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food service, health, and safety.
- Customer Relations: The senior operations manager must cultivate positive relationships with customers and ensure that customer complaints and feedback are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Budget and Financial Management: The senior operations manager must manage the budget and financial operations of the business, including preparing and analyzing financial reports, forecasting revenue and expenses, and developing cost-saving initiatives.
Skills Required:
- Minimum of 5+ years in food operations management with high volume operations
- 2 to 4 years of previous experience in Franchise Operations (preferred)
- Supervisory experience in a business or post-secondary environment related to customer service operations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating product purchases, with accountability for meeting margin and pricing targets
- Previous experience developing, implementing and evaluating business strategies
- Outstanding customer service skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong administrative abilities.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, leadership and written & verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead a shift-based team and manage performance
- Business acumen and analytical skills, critical thinking, demonstrates relationship-building skills.
- Ability to effectively work in a high-volume retail operation with proven good judgement and excellent problem-solving skills

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
