About the Role
This position supports individuals with addiction and mental health concerns, often compounded by brain injuries, disabilities, and high-risk environments. You’ll provide direct outreach and personalized support, using a trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach combined with life coaching techniques to foster trust, safety, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support tailored to each individual's unique needs and goals.
- Build strong, trusting relationships while maintaining firm and respectful boundaries.
- Use life coaching and motivational interviewing techniques to support personal development.
- Conduct ongoing safety assessments and respond to crises as needed.
- Collaborate with guardians, healthcare providers, PDD, agencies, and support networks.
- Assist clients in accessing addiction treatment, housing, healthcare, and social services.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case notes.
- Ensure transportation needs are met (personal vehicle required; driving clearance documents needed).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with individuals affected by addiction, mental health issues, and disabilities.
- Strong understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.
- Valid driver’s license and driving clearance (mileage reimbursed).
- Police clearance and intervention training certificate.
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage lone-worker safety protocols.
- Quick thinking, adaptability, and calmness under pressure.
