Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will manage parts inventory, assist customers with their parts needs, and support the service and sales departments. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of automotive parts, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous dealership experience and familiarity with POS systems are highly valued. Bilingual abilities and experience with automotive repair or maintenance are considered strong assets. The Parts Advisor will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate order fulfillment, effective sales techniques, and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct automotive parts through effective communication and product knowledge.
- Manage inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure accurate order fulfillment using POS systems and inventory management software such as CMMS.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments, while maintaining proper cashiering procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at all times.
- Support the service department by coordinating parts orders for repairs and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery to meet repair schedules.
- Maintain organized storage of parts, keep the showroom clean, and ensure all parts are properly labeled for easy access.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote parts specials or promotions to increase retail sales.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking, reporting, and data analysis to optimize stock levels.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding order status, stock availability, and customer requests.
- Uphold dealership standards for appearance, organization, and safety protocols.
Experience
- Prior dealership experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Familiarity with POS systems, retail sales processes, and order fulfillment procedures is advantageous.
- Experience with automotive repair or maintenance knowledge enhances ability to assist customers effectively.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish/English) are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
