PCF is an important business unit within LCL that manages and develops the products and service programs in order to improve the customer experience, maximize value, and provide a platform to enhance customer insights and relationships. The Senior Batch ETL Developer will work as part of the Integration team. The primary responsibility will be implementing the ETL processes to integrate the central Digital Platform hosted on an Oracle database with other applications via WebServices, Flat Files, XML documents etc. The role assumes active participation in the interfaces’ detailed design, documentation, development, testing and deployment support activities. The candidate must have a deep understanding of the overall ETL best practices in the areas of efficiency, scalability, re-usability, audit and maintainability. Familiarity with Hadoop framework and understanding / experience with both OLTP and star schemas with OLAP would be a huge plus.
What you’ll do
Perform data profiling and source to target mapping analysis for best design
Design, develop and implement ETL processes using Sync sort DMX transformation tool
Create Sqoop jobs to replicate data between Hive and Oracle databases
Perform required actions on hdfs file system
Define and develop schedule using Run deck scheduling tool
Create Unix scripts to perform files manipulation, archival, batch execution orchestration and other command line level activities
Design and develop Hive/Oracle SQL (DDL and DML) statements, stored procedures, functions, views and triggers to be used during the ETL processes
Write and maintain documentation of the ETL processes low level designs, unit test plans /results, flow diagrams
Collaborate with business solution analysts, other developers, solution architects and other team members to deliver sound solutions
What you’ll need
5 years ETL experience ( Sync sort DMX is a huge plus, at minimum DataStage, Informatica or other mainstream ETL tool)
5 years of experience with systems data integration, data warehousing and/or business intelligence projects
Experience with Big Data and any event streaming tool (like Kafka)
Proven experience working with Oracle (and Hive as plus) writing well performing SQL and stored procedures
3-5 years Unix scripting experience
Experience with Syncsort DMX toolset
Experience creating Liquibase scripts
Experience pulling data from a variety of data source types including Mainframe (EBCDIC), Fixed Length and delimited files, databases
Experience working in an Agile project environment
Experience working with Gitbucket version control
Experience working with IBM Sterling MFT
Java / Spring batch experience is a plus
Self-motivated with strong team spirit
Strong work ethic
Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as ability to work within a team
Excellent multi-tasking skills
Ability to communicate well to both technical and non-technical staff
