Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience in freight transportation and commercial driving operations
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is desirable
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to safety protocols and compliance standards
- Excellent communication skills and reliability in meeting delivery schedules
- Physical ability to load, unload, and handle freight as required
