Job Overview
Dairy Fountain Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and motivated QA/QC Specialist (Food Manufacturing and R&D) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in Mississauga, Ontario.
This role is responsible for supporting both Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Research & Development activities within our dairy manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will help ensure food safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and support the development and continuous improvement of new and existing products.
Responsibilities
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Perform laboratory testing, product evaluations, and quality inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
- Support HACCP, SQF, GMP, and other food safety and quality programs
- Investigate quality concerns and assist with corrective and preventive actions
- Maintain quality records, product specifications, and food safety documentation
- Conduct new product development, product trials, formulation improvements, and product validations
- Conduct shelf-life studies and assist with product commercialization activities
- Collaborate with Production, Operations, and other departments to support quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay current with food safety regulations, industry trends, and best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Nutrition, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Research & Development, or a related role within the food manufacturing industry
- Working knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP, and food safety regulations
- Experience with laboratory testing, quality inspections, and product evaluations
- Experience supporting product development, formulation improvements, or product trials is considered an asset
- Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
