RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work safely and play an active role in continuing to support a positive safety culture
- Identify and prioritize electrical maintenance and repairs on commercial and industrial electrical systems with the guidance of senior technicians
- Installation of new electrical systems
- Retrofit existing electrical systems
- Experience with HVAC and building systems an asset
- Active role in permit process for electrical installations and applicable service work
- You will ensure that all manufacturer’s guidelines and government regulations regarding electrical maintenance and repair are followed
- Maintaining records regarding maintenance work performed, materials used, quality, and cost control
- You will ensure a high standard in all finished work while remaining cost-effective
- You’ll be responsible for thorough record keeping and the reporting of equipment status including but not limited to work performed
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Must have a valid drivers license, clean drivers abstract and be bondable.
- Minimum 2nd year indentured apprentice
- Ability to self-learn and use technology to benefit your growth in the electrical trade
- Previous experience working knowledge of other related trades an asset
- Must be comfortable with working at heights and with man lift equipment
- Experience working with DDC systems an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Electric Code
- WHMIS certificate and Confined Space Entry an asset (will provide applicable safety training where necessary)
- Strong organizational and time management skills to provide timely and high-quality service
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions while performing labor-intensive duties
- Work closely with our HVAC technicians and plumbers to service our existing customers and also bring new business into the fold
- Self-starter and team player.
Nice to Have:
- Class B or Class A FSR certification
- Minimum of 3 years' electrical service work in a commercial environment is an asset
- Experience with HVAC, building systems, and DDC controls
- Diagnostic skills in motor controls, PLCs, and AC/DC drives
- Knowledge of high-voltage circuitry and protection devices (if A-ticketed)
- WHMIS or Confined Space Entry (training provided if not held)
