Hughes Intelligence has been proudly serving Sarnia-Lambton and surrounding communities since 1994. We are currently hiring both Full-Time and Part-Time Security Guards to join our growing team.
The majority of our available work involves providing 1:1 security support within Long-Term Care homes, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, staff, and visitors. We also offer opportunities to work in more traditional security environments, including industrial, commercial, retail, and special event settings.

Availability Requirements
We are seeking Security Guards who are available to work a variety of shifts, including:
- Days
- Afternoons
- Nights
- Weekends (required)
- Statutory holidays
Full-Time employees are expected to maintain open availability.
Part-Time employees must also have regular weekend availability and be available to work a variety of shifts as operational needs require.
Typical shifts range from 8 to 12 hours.
Security Guard Responsibilities
- Provide professional security services in Long-Term Care homes and other client locations.
- Work one-on-one with Long-Term Care residents who require additional supervision to help maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property.
- Conduct patrols and monitor access control where required.
- Monitor surveillance and alarm systems.
- Respond professionally to incidents and emergencies.
- Complete detailed reports and required documentation.
- Enforce client policies and site procedures.
- Assist with screening procedures when required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR certification (Red Cross or equivalent).
- Valid driver's licence.
- Reliable vehicle or dependable transportation.
- Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required for Long-Term Care assignments).
- Recent 2-Step TB Test (completed within the past 6 months) or willingness to obtain one prior to working in Long-Term Care.
- Willingness to travel to client locations including Petrolia, Grand Bend, Wallaceburg, and Chatham as operationally required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Previous Security Guard experience.
- Experience working in Long-Term Care, healthcare, hospitals, retirement homes, or with seniors.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience working with individuals who require additional supervision or behavioural support.
Training
Successful candidates will receive long-term care training before beginning Long-Term Care assignments.
