Lee Li Holdings and its subsidiaries, including First Choice Beverage, Global Beverage and Logistics Centre, and Imperial Chilled Juice, are continuing a significant expansion of their manufacturing operations in Mississauga.
The organization is investing approximately $533 million into expanding existing operations and developing a new state-of-the-art production facility featuring AI-enabled manufacturing systems, automated warehousing capabilities, and sustainable production practices. The business operates within the beverage and cold-pack manufacturing sector and continues to experience rapid growth driven by increased customer demand and market expansion.
The Plant Manager position includes all operations in the plant itself including inventory control, pasteurising process, production and packaging, repair & maintenance, yard and shipping.
Primary Responsibilities:

- Planning for the plant operations - this includes facility utilization planning, upgrades, changes, etc.
- Production schedules – to complete weekly production within scheduled time frame.
- Staffing - including needs assessments, selection, evaluations and development
- Direct production department leaders - includes yard, shipping, batching, pasteurising, production, packaging, logistics and maintenance.
- Plant certification - maintain HACCP, ISO9001, FSSC22000, GMP, CFIA, KOSHER, and other necessary certifications.
- Provide direction, leadership, support, motivate and retain qualified talent.
- Promote “total customer satisfaction” culture within the organization.
- Quality assurance – in compliance with the QA program in the plant.
- Safety - includes methods, equipment, training, investigations and discipline.
- Cost management - support estimating, and manage all production costs.
- Develop and implement standards - includes processes, materials, and equipment.
- Material and equipment requirements - plan and obtain the required resources to complete projects and asset management.
- Plant productivity - maximize workforce productivity.
- Capital improvements - includes planning and implementation.
- Documentation - as required for staff, contractual, certification, H & S, compliance to customers and authorities, and due diligence.
Accountabilities:
- For the safety of all workers and contractors under his supervision.
- Conform to all certification in particular ISO9001, FSSC22000 and GMP, and to provide high quality products.
- Departmental performance - staff, project and overhead.
- Continuous improvement.
- Performance measurements suitable to manage and improve the plant operations.
- Plant and facilities to be kept in updated, clean, tidy and in workmanlike condition.
- Conform to laws and regulations.
Some Representative Duties:
- Prepare special project schedules, and manage and coordinate all resources to achieve these schedules.
- Prepare ad-hoc facilities utilization schedules.
- Assign work and tasks to managers, supervisors and staff.
- Recommend necessary project materials and inventory to meet special project needs.
- Hold regular safety meetings, audits, safety training, investigate incidents and take corrective action.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of all staff. Set performance goals for staff.
- Develop staff improvement plans (individual and group), and to evaluate staff for salary reviews, progress, discipline, etc.
- Determine the staff requirements - this will include long term needs for skills, plus the actual manpower needs for specific projects.
- Recommend salary and work changes for staff.
- Create, recommend source and deliver specific training to production workers or supervisors as required.
- Develop and train supervisors to become effective leaders and supervisors. Oversee their efforts in training and improving their own staff as required.
- Hold staff meetings to coordinate and to optimize activities, convey necessary information, the mission and the objectives.
- Develop a collaborative and cooperative work environment.
- In conjunction with the QA Manager, effectively implement the QA program in the plant - eliminate all self-induced errors.
- Develop and maintain effective documentation systems for production - due diligence, certification, staff, evaluation, productivity improvement initiatives, production performance, etc.
- Develop and implement KPI and other process improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend new materials and equipment in the plant.
- Evaluate the condition of all equipment and systems. Maintain or upgrade as required to increase uptime and reliability, improve productivity and quality.
- Provide production input to the planning of weekly productions.
- Develop and recommend annual operating and capital budgets for the plant operations.
- Track and evaluate performance of individual sku production, individuals and the department and take corrective action to keep production overheads on budget.
- Regular tours and exposure in the plant to learn capabilities and to identify problems and also opportunities for improvement.
- Regular plant audits to evaluate working conditions, plant maintenance, worker output, etc.
- Determine best practices for production and standardize.
- Develop appropriate standard operating procedures and implement all other company policy and standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Education:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Possesses management experience in food manufacturing or processing, preferably juice and/or soy co-packing.
- Experience in successfully leading, coaching, motivating and developing a team in a “hands on” environment.
- Above average understanding of costs relating to Juice manufacturing and packaging. Budgetary experience a must.
- Strong customer and quality focus.
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, and work well under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Maestro, etc.
Pay: $100,000.00-$300,000.00 per year
