Reports To – Executive Chef
Position Summary: Crowne Plaza Moncton Downtown is looking for Line Cook that is responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest service and standards are achieved. BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Engage with the team to maximize the customers’ expectations.
· Control food costs where possible.
· Prep ingredients and assemble dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, producing top quality dishes every time.
· Implement and maintain Hotel and brand standards, policies, and procedures.
· Report areas of concern to Executive Chef or designate.
· Ensure good relations with other departments especially front of house staff and banquet team.
· Foster a teamwork environment.
· Always maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
· Assist in banquet/catering preparations as necessary.
· Effectively communicate with co-workers as needed, to ensure that guest expectations are exceeded.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· A desire to exceed guests’ expectations.
· Passionate about food and its presentation.
· Able to handle difficult situations, accommodate special requests.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Capable of managing multiple priorities and working under pressure.
· Current Food Safety Certification is an asset.
· Able to work as a team player.
· Highly organized and time efficient.
· Able to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
· Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
· Must be able to speak both official languages, additional languages would be an asset.
- Bilingualism is an asset, English is required.
- 2+ years' experience in kitchen setting, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Ability to multitask.
- Contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
- Post-secondary education such as a cook trade certification is an asset, but not mandatory
- Tourism & Hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities
