ANTIPASTOS is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to fill a Kitchen Cook position. The Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparation of various menu items. Other responsibilities include maintaining a clean and sanitized, well stocked work area. Upholding Food Handling and Health and Safety Standards is a high priority.
Kitchen Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking all pasta within the store. They must follow a scheduled cooking list to ensure all necessary pasta items are prepared on time; requiring constant monitoring of the ‘order wall’. Kitchen Cooks must recognize specialty items and ensure specifics of an order are accurately completed. As well, it is a responsibility of the Kitchen Cook to prepare cooking ingredients (vegetables, meats etc.) (chopping, washing) in order to be utilized in kitchen recipes. The Kitchen Cook is responsible for cooking, preparing and maintaining the foods offered at the Hot Table (including pasta, vegetables, meats, features and sauces. Additionally, the Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing and packaging individual dinners to be sold in the retail freezers
This position operates in a fast-paced, busy environment; as a part of a team, making interpersonal skills crucial. A clean work station must be maintained throughout the day and all employees must follow the Food Handling Safety guidelines. The Kitchen Cook must adhere to Standards of Operations and Health and Safety protocols at all times. This role also entails performing different tasks in other areas of the kitchen to accomplish daily objectives.
Successful candidates must have kitchen experience, be reliable, be able to work in a fast paced environment and work well in a team environment.
