KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs preventive maintenance on the medical gas distribution network, such as high pressure medical gas cylinders, medical air systems, medical vacuum systems,
outlets and alarm panels to ensure an uninterrupted supply of medical gases to patients.
- Diagnoses and replaces/repairs medical gas system components according to manufacturer's standards to ensure proper operation while putting patient's safety first;
- Generates maintenance and deficiency reports on medical gas systems to comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., CSA Z7396, NFPA 55 and ASME B31.3);
- Manages and updates hospital and clinical equipment records for each facility;
- Identifies value-added opportunities in our service offering at visited customers;
- Supports the sales team by providing technical expertise and sharing opportunities to win contracts;
- Communicates effectively with customers and suppliers when necessary;
- Other duties as assigned.
PREREQUISITS
- 2-3 years prior service and maintenance experience (preferably in a healthcare environment);
- Mechanical affinity and experience in repair, maintenance, calibration and installation of electrical, pneumatic and electronic healthcare equipment (an asset);
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office environment;
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND COMPENTENSES
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, and in challenging locations (ex. boiler rooms, hospitals occupied by patients etc.);
- Ability to be on the road up to 50% of the time ( sometimes out of the country).
- Ability to lift up to 27 kg (60 lb) unassisted
