Depending on what team the successful candidate is hired into, duties can also include some of the following:
- Performs a variety of technical, planning and administrative functions related to integrated vegetation management by
collecting and analyzing data, drafting and implementing work plans and prescriptions, developing annual and long term
management plans and site specific prescriptions based on inventories, species, species diversification, growth rates and
environmental sensitivities; investigates tree related incidents and analyzes tree failure; assists in the evaluation of
vegetation risk in relation to circuit priority, public safety, wildfire risk, etc. and establishes action thresholds. May also assist
with the analysis and application of LiDAR, GIS, remote sensing and other spatial datasets to support vegetation
management planning, wildfire risk reduction and vegetation risk assessments.
- Liaises with a variety of internal/external groups and agencies related to vegetation management work and issues.
- Maintains a variety of records such as work inventories, specifications, historical records, etc.
- Assists in the preparation of operating budgets and the annual work plan, assessing costs of planned projects and
programs and analyzing monthly variances; prepares maintenance activity summary reports.
- Utilizes a variety of computer programs to develop, implement and monitor integrated vegetation management programs.
- Assists with the evaluation and application of emerging technologies, including LiDAR, aerial imagery, GIS, remote
sensing and advanced analytics, to support utility vegetation management planning and decision making.
