Looking for a full time, permanent mechanic at our fully licensed private MVIS shop in Oshawa. We are a large, well-established commercial grounds maintenance business with more than 100 pieces of very well-maintained equipment including new and used pick-up trucks, loaders, tractors, snowplows, salters as well as a variety of different types of trailers and floats. Smaller equipment includes commercial mowers, hand blowers, trimmers etc.
Work hours are Monday – Friday days (spring through fall) but may include some later days/weekends in the winter all dependent on weather occurrences.
Job inclusions and requirements:
- Proven experience as a mechanic
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
◦ A clean valid driver’s license
- ◦ Must have own tools
- ◦ Be able to work independently and with others
- ◦ Understand that vacations are to be taken from May – October only
- ◦ Mechanic’s license will pay $45/hour wage
($40/hour unlicensed with exp.)
- ◦ Must be reliable and punctual as well as dedicated and trustworthy
- ◦ Must be able to send and receive emails
Requirements:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Conduct inspections and identify potential problems
- Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Our locked, alarmed, and secure shop and fenced yard is in Oshawa off the 401. Heated, secured, multiple enclosed shop bays.
Wages are offered at $45/hour for a licensed mechanic or $40/hour for unlicensed with experience. Raises and seasonal bonuses given upon proven performance and dedication.
Paid weekly with paycheck on the books. STAT holidays and overtime pay included.
