Job Details:
Job Summary: Proactively identify, advocate and pursue new business development opportunities and strategies across a defined territory. Sales Executives are the frontline force with respect to customer contact, coordination, and correspondence. The role will drive sales acceleration for GRIDSMART, Trafficware, UMO and related services in the defined territory. The Sales Executive will be responsible for owning and driving a pipeline with new and existing clients, contractors and consultants to achieve aggressive sales targets and accelerate growth. The successful candidate monitors, analyzes and reports via CUBIC CRM all sales and marketing activity against goals. While this position typically works under limited supervision and direction, the successful candidate will be part of the development and growth of the new organization in Canada. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority while leveraging best practices, use-cases and incredible passion and depth of knowledge from a supportive, collaborative and similarly driven team of global colleagues and peers in an industry leader.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Identifies new business and revenue opportunities; builds and maintains a robust pipeline.
Provides input for accurate and realistic bookings forecast estimates.
Develops and maintains regular contacts with customers, prospects, and related industry influencers
Advises and counsels management on bid/no bid decisions, multi-company teaming decisions, system design, pricing strategy, supplemental staffing, and other issues affecting probability of winning contracts.
Develops marketing information used for new business proposals, product specifications, statements of work and systems requirements.
Confers with customer technical representatives and management to determine and interpret customer's immediate and long term requirements
Recommends application and/or modification of Company products to satisfy customer requirements.
Oversees project implementations and tracks required follow-up to ensure superior customer experience.
Improves competitive position by recommending new applications of systems, providing information on the technical development of systems and assisting in program planning.
Keeps track of potential sales opportunities and marketing efforts of competitor firms.
Participates in the preparation of the strategic plan for territory
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in engineering, management, or marketing, plus eight years’ experience in a sales/marketing position. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Familiar with the traffic, transit and Smart City issues facing medium to large size cities would be an asset. Comfortable in learning new technology and able to articulate value and solution vision to clients. Previous experience in structuring and delivering against sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies and successful public relations efforts. Must be highly motivated to succeed and have excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills. Must be able to travel as required. Able to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines.
