Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Housekeeping Manager to join our team at the Executive Cosmopolitan Hotel & Spa, nestled in the vibrant core of Toronto’s financial district. As a Housekeeping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all housekeeping activities to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Conduct daily inspections in guest rooms, public spaces, SpaZen, etc.
- Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc.
- Plan, organize, and monitor departmental activities to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Plan and oversee the completion of annual deep cleaning of rooms and public areas.
- Create weekly work schedules, monitor house count, and make staffing adjustments accordingly.
- Start operations and prepare work assignments on the computer for Room Attendants, Houseman, and Supervisors.
- Discuss the daily conversation report, house status, and forecast (occupancy, VIP arrivals, groups, etc.).
- Hire, train, and conduct performance reviews for the housekeeping department.
- Distribute and delegate daily assignments to housekeeping team members.
- Plan and conduct monthly staff meetings.
- Maintain training files for all housekeeping employees.
- Ensure all regulations regarding safety, chemicals, and cleaning supplies are enforced.
- Monitor usage, provide training, and ensure proper labeling of hazardous supplies.
- Manage the finances of housekeeping operations, including budget and inventory controls.
- Process required paperwork to ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll for the department.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for all housekeeping supplies.
- Prepare and monitor maintenance requests and ensure follow-up on completion.
- Handle guest complaints and requests promptly and efficiently.
- Keep track of all housekeeping activities and coordinate with the Front Desk.
- Update Room Attendants about early check-outs, no-show rooms, VIP stayovers, arrivals, and any special services needed for VIPs and large groups.
- Ensure Room Attendants are aware of check-outs, stayovers, VIPs in-house, and VIP arrivals.
- Answer the telephone courteously and efficiently as per established procedures.
- Monitor out-of-order rooms and ensure reasons are known and documented.
- Inspect and update rooms.
- Double-check and update schedules for the next day.
- Handle monthly staff dry cleaning accounting.
- Perform other duties as they arise (emails, POs, etc.).
Qualifications:
Passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role with advanced knowledge of housekeeping operations, budget forecasting, and management.
- Experience in personnel and labor relations in a union environment.
- Knowledge of regulations associated with chemical usage and biohazards.
- Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and in emergency situations.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook, with experience in property management systems.
- Proven leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and ensure task accomplishment.
- Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate assignments to meet strict deadlines.
- Flexible schedule, able to work weekends and holidays as required.

Pay: $68,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
