Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient care, and maintaining accurate pharmacy operations. Duties
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing to ensure accuracy and safety
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions, offering medication guidance, and supporting health-related inquiries
- Manage inventory levels, restock shelves, and verify medication stock to maintain optimal pharmacy operations
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry, prescription processing, and maintaining patient records with precision
- Apply medical terminology knowledge to accurately interpret prescriptions and communicate effectively with healthcare providers
- Support medication administration procedures when necessary under supervision, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to all health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is highly desirable
- Experience as a pharmacy technician or in pharmacy support roles is preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration processes
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to customer service
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of pharmacy software systems and inventory management tools is advantageous
- Drivers license to conduct deliveries
- Certification or training related to pharmacy assistance or healthcare is a plus
