Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Carpenters Helper/Laborer to join our construction team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of carpentry and construction projects. The position involves assisting skilled carpenters and tradespeople in completing diverse building tasks, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on job sites. Candidates should be motivated, reliable, and eager to learn new skills within the construction industry.
Duties
- Assist with framing, cabinetry, siding, and other carpentry tasks using hand tools and power tools.
- Help with demolition, restoration projects, and general site cleanup
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to assist in project execution
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling to support project timelines
- Aid in installation of flooring, tile laying, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and cabinetry
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of tools and equipment such as mitre saws, table saws, routers etc.
- Support construction painting, caulking, siding installation, and other finishing work
- Assist with estimating materials and preparing work areas for various tasks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Prior experience or familiarity with construction trades such as framing, decking, trim, finish carpentry is an asset.
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment preferred
- Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking on job sites
- Basic understanding of construction estimating or project planning is advantageous
- Handyman experience or skills in drywall/paint or low voltage electrical work are beneficial but not required.
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is preferred
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from experienced tradespeople

Pay: $20.00-$28.95 per hour
