Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Soils & Asphalt Testing Technician to join our team. This role requires proficiency in various testing techniques and the ability to utilize technology and software for quality control and analysis. The Soils & Asphalt Testing Technician will play a crucial role in supporting projects through precise quality control and data management.
Duties
- Read and understand design/construction drawings for various types of civil projects including earthworks, municipal, structural, and road construction applications
- Provide quality control information to assigned Engineer or Project Manager to meet the Contract and construction requirements
- Conduct various types of soils, aggregates, Portland cement concrete testing and/or asphalt concrete testing in a field lab
- Perform non-destructive nuclear density testing on soils and other manufactured materials required for civil construction projects
- Prepare complete, accurate, and legible reports for all types of testing required
- Maintain condition of all equipment and company vehicle
- Perform additional assignments according to Supervisor's requests
Requirements
- Experience with asphalt concrete and/or soils testing in Saskatchewan road construction is required
- Must have a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team setting
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative, with a proactive approach to solving problems
- Willingness to travel and be stationed in remote locations in Saskatchewan and/or Alberta, sometimes in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime hours and weekends (overtime pay is applicable)
- This role involves lifting materials up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and walking over uneven terrain outdoors as part of daily tasks
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
