Shared Health is recruiting for the term full-time position of Administrative Secretary 1 for Shared Health’s Diagnostic Imaging Department at Selkirk Hospital. This term is until September 30, 2019.

This term position will expire upon the return of the current incumbent to her position. The successful candidate will be provided by the Employer a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours’ notice that the current incumbent is returning.

The incumbent is responsible for support of the Diagnostics team within the Interlake-Eastern RHA. This role supports the Diagnostic Imaging Charge Technologist in Selkirk with administrative duties and reports to the Support Staff Supervisor.

Interested applicants must be Grade 12 graduates with a completed Medical Terminology Course. They must type 55 WPM under standard tests. Accuracy of reporting is of prime importance. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and have knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs. RIS/PACS experience is an asset. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, client oriented environment and demonstrate considerable judgment, courtesy and tact in dealing with the public and other healthcare professionals. Successful candidates will have several years of related experience and/or demonstrated experience sufficient to perform duties. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.

Anticipated Shifts: Days/Evenings including Weekends; 36.25 hours weekly; 7.25 hour shifts
Salary: $18.722 - $21.704 per hour, as per MGEU contract

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (Including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
