What This Position Is All About:
The Financial Analyst – Banner Accounting supports the banner accounting and finance processes to ensure all monthly/quarterly functions are completed accurately and on time within company policy. This is role is a one year contract.

You Also Have:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Experience in the retail industry, while not required, is preferred
  • Strong financial acumen / analytical skills
  • Require to be proficient in Microsoft Excel and having a working knowledge of and Oracle GL / Oracle Fusions, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Essbase is an asset
  • Experience with accounting, internal controls, financial systems, and processes.
  • Experience with accounting monthly and quarterly close process
  • Accounting / Financial reporting experience, preference with a large public companies
  • Experience with annual audits from a public company perspective.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, US GAAP), experience with foreign currency translation, impairment testing, accounting contract review, internal controls management etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation is preferred (completed or in progress)
As the Financial Analyst, Accounting & Reporting, You Will:
  • Support the month end close process to ensure accurate and timely completion of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Role will have a focus on routine and ad hoc banking transactions related to store level and corporate operations.
  • Liaise with other business units within the organization on accounting issues ie. resolving open items with Treasury
  • Approve low risk account reconciliations
  • Performs data analysis to create and produce reports to support business needs
  • Provide support for internal and external audit queries
  • Timely resolution of issues identified with various internal teams (FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Legal, etc.)
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
