As a Materials Coordinator you will be responsible to co-ordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities.

Review production schedules and related information and confer with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material.

MAJOR DUTIEs:
Mechanical Designers are responsible for the design and detailing of mechanical components and assemblies for mobile machines for the underground hard-rock mining industry.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Create new or modify existing components and subassemblies SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD tools as required to fit the design purpose
Prepare calculations to support design purpose as required based on the individual’s capabilities and the design requirements
Process of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) with care and attention to detail and consideration of the impact on the business.
Communicate with manufacturing, vendors, and purchasing.
Design and detail of equipment components. Details including bills of materials, assembly procedures details, and inspection sheets.
Support production build activity.
Participate in Continuous Improvement objectives.
Support special projects as assigned by your Manager
Support the Quality objectives for systems and ISO 9000 objectives.

Qualifications:
Education

Engineering Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Eligibility for licensing through OACETT or PEO is preferred.

Experience

0-5 year’s experience in the design and / or manufacturing of heavy equipment.
Able to use SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Computer literate in MS Office Software (Work, Excel, Project).
Capable of writing technical documents in a clear and effective manner.
Understands basic manufacturing processes.
Able to complete tasks with moderate supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively with others.
