A Deli/Meat Department Manager co-ordinates the merchandise and activities of Associates in a department(s) of a Wal-Mart store through modular integrity, perpetual inventory, merchandise management, and customer service.
- Following the “One Best Way” Standards of practice. • Practicing the 3 meter Attitude. • Answering Customer calls promptly. • Maintaining 100% instock at all times. • Meeting Customer's needs by assisting them whenever possible. • Maintaining zero pricing errors (i.e. Scanning Credibility Program). • Assisting the Management Team in the identification and correction of unsafe conditions and behaviors. • Listening to Customer complaints, examining returned merchandise, and resolving problems to restore and promote good public relations. • Completing the Store-Within-A-Store (SWAS) charts monthly. • Completing price changes on time. • Ordering merchandise on time. • Taking orders for Deli Department merchandise; slicing and preparing merchandise, such as meat, cheese, fried chicken; and providing requested assistance. • Preparing deli food orders, meat, cheese, and utilizing slicers ,stackers, and other utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and filling prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display area and specialty orders from Customers as required. • Setting modular layouts and maintaining its integrity. • Maintaining/Tracking productivity of features. • Displaying correct signing. • Maintaining accurate shelf labels. • Properly maintaining modulars using the Modular Activity Report, price changes, modular changes and the maximum shelf quantity based on the Rate-of-Sale. • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area. • Adhering to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates. • Adhering to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures. Additional Responsibilities • Adheres to all company policies and standard operating procedures. • Other responsibilities may be assigned.
