Position Summary
ProSoils is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support a broad range of HR functions across our agricultural retail operations. This role serves as a key resource for employees and managers, helping ensure effective human resources practices while supporting workforce development, employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and benefits administration.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to build strong relationships with employees in both office and field-based roles.
Key Responsibilities
(1) Employee Relations & HR Support
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Assist in resolving employee relations issues while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Support performance management processes, employee coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and company culture.
(2) Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and hiring.
- Manage onboarding processes to ensure a positive new hire experience.
- Conduct new employee orientations and maintain onboarding documentation.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and staffing solutions.
(3) Benefits & Payroll Administration
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and questions.
- Coordinate payroll to ensure accurate employee information and records.
- Maintain employee files and employee data accurately.
(4) Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Administer workers' compensation, and other employee leave requests.
- Maintain employee records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in updating and communicating HR policies and procedures.
(5) Training & Development
- Coordinate employee training programs and compliance training requirements.
- Assist with leadership development and workforce planning initiatives.
- Track employee certifications and required training records.
(6) HR Projects
- Contribute to HR initiatives, process improvements, and special projects.
- Support organizational growth, retention efforts, and succession planning activities.
- Assist with HR reporting and workforce analytics.
Qualifications
Required
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Commerce (Human Resources focus), Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Working knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and employee relations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR payroll systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to ProSoils’ ag retail locations.
Preferred
- HR experience within agriculture, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or a multi-location environment.
- HR accreditations
- Experience with recruiting hourly and seasonal employees.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, seasonal workforce management, and safety programs.
