SUMMARY: Working alongside our engineering, design, assembly, and service teams, we are seeking a skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive procurement excellence across the full lifecycle of our robotic automation systems. In this fast-paced role, you will champion cost-reduction initiatives and establish procurement best practices, directly influencing our bottom line from initial build phases to aftermarket support.
A primary focus will be leading the optimization of our procurement processes during our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. You will analyze existing workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and collaborate across departments to ensure a seamless transition to the new platform. During the robot build phase, you will manage the cost-effective procurement of commercial and manufactured parts. For systems already in the field, you will streamline the sourcing of spare parts, warranties, and retrofit orders. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Work closely with the Quoting/Mechanical & Controls Engineering/Assembly/Service teams to handle the procurement and supply chain of commercial and manufactured parts.

By acquiring BOMs and drawings from the Mechanical & Controls Engineering team, you will be responsible for obtaining RFQs from suppliers, handling the entire supply chain, procurement, shipping and receipt of goods, handling nonconformances and RMAs.

Work with manufactures on getting best prices and lead times

Generate packing slips and assist the logistics department in the shipment of goods to customers internationally

Control and manage the inventory of commercial and manufactured parts

Lead the procurement workstream in the implementation of the ERP system, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including procurement, finance, IT, and other relevant departments, to gather requirements and define the procurement module's scope within the ERP system.

Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing procurement processes, identifying areas for optimization and standardization.

Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures within the ERP system to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and support organizational goals.

Configure and customize the procurement module of the ERP system based on business requirements and industry best practices.

Monitor and evaluate the performance of the procurement module, identifying issues and proposing enhancements to optimize its effectiveness.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to procurement and ERP systems.

Manage and direct receiving, shipping, and purchasing functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) are a plus.

Proven experience as a Senior Procurement Specialist or similar role, with a focus on ERP implementation.

Strong understanding of ERP systems, particularly procurement modules. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.

In-depth knowledge of procurement and supply chain process for manufacturing environments

Able to understand mechanical shop drawings and electrical schematics

Experience in SolidWorks PDM is an asset

Injection Molding knowledge is an asset

Automation equipment knowledge is an asset

The expected salary range for this role is $70,000 to $90,000 annually. Individual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, job-related factors, and shift worked.
