Overview

Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers with all stages of litigation, but specifically during discovery and trial preparation
- Draft, revise, and format legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, briefs, and correspondence
- Manage and organize electronic and physical files, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate document production, including review, indexing, and filing of materials
- Prepare and manage court filings, including e-filing when applicable
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third-party service providers
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial briefs
- Support billing processes, including time entry and file-related disbursement tracking
Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Legal Assistant program is preferred (equivalent training and experience will be considered for a suitable candidate)
- 5 or more years of prior experience working as a litigation legal assistant/paralegal
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional inter-personal skills with the ability to create and foster professional relationships
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking and make decisions based on sound judgment
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Proactive and resourceful
