Position Overview
LN is currently seeking Survey Assistants to join our Edmonton team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is ideal for motivated individuals who are eager to build a career in the surveying industry.
You’ll work alongside experienced field surveyors, gaining hands-on experience while contributing to a variety of construction and survey projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is physically active, and is looking to develop technical skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
Field Support
Assist survey crews with construction layout, topographic, and as-built surveys
Perform a variety of field tasks under the direction of senior surveyors
Support data collection and ensure accuracy in field measurements
Documentation & Equipment
Record and maintain survey field notes in accordance with company standards
Assist with the setup, use, and care of survey equipment and tools
Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained and handled properly
Safety & Team Support
Participate in all corporate and client HSE programs
Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment
Take direction from senior staff and actively participate in training and development
Qualifications & Requirements
Post-secondary education in Geomatics or related field is an asset
1–2 years of experience as a Survey Assistant preferred
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
Experience with Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment is an asset
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to take direction, learn quickly, and accept coaching
Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Work Conditions
Field-based role working outdoors in all weather conditions
Physically demanding with extended periods on site
Flexible schedule including overtime, weekends, and varying shift lengths
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
