We are seeking an experienced Compensation Accounting Manager to lead the accounting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis of compensation and benefits expenses. This role will work closely with Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
The ideal candidate will be a strong accounting leader with excellent analytical skills, advanced Excel and Power Query capabilities, and the ability to manage large volumes of data while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
**Competitive salary ranging from $105,000 - $125,000 + Bonus**

Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and develop the compensation accounting team while acting as an escalation point for complex accounting matters.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting of salaries, benefits, incentive compensation, and other employee-related expenses.
- Prepare and oversee quarterly variance analysis, including actuals versus budget, forecast, and prior-year results.
- Oversee intercompany allocations, benefit burden rate calculations, transfer pricing processes, and other recurring accounting schedules.
- Manage payroll-to-general-ledger reconciliations, benefit liability reconciliations, incentive compensation true-ups, and related account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial reporting related to compensation and benefits expenses, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, payroll, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, systems, controls, and data workflows, including the use of advanced Excel and Power Query tools.
Successful Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA designation.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of people leadership experience.
- Strong experience with compensation accounting, payroll-related accounting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel and Power Query skills, with experience working with ERP systems, general ledgers, and large data sets.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
