Site Overview: JBH is a community hospital serving the City of Burlington and surrounding areas, since 1961. The hospital provides a range of services, including: specialist clinics, medicine, surgery, emergency, maternal/child, mental health and rehabilitation/complex continuing care.

Site: Joseph Brant Hospital
Hours: Continental Rotation (0730-1930/1930-0730hrs)
Pay Rate: $21.67/hr. - $22.92/hr. "based on the levelling system"
Averaging Agreement: Overtime is AA after 88 hours

Essential Job Functions:

Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training

Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift

Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site-specific security policies and procedures

Plans and implements shift work schedules
-
Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training
-
Motivates staff and issues commendations
-
Coach and manage team performance, issuing corrective actions when necessary, and ensure all performance-related documentation is sent to the Client Service Manager

Attendance Management
-
Performs security audits
-
Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
-
Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.

Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager
Requirements:
-
A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
-
A Valid Standard First AID CPR C Certificate (From a WSIB Approved Organization)

Proof of up to date immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step Tuberculosis skin test

Covid Vaccine two doses
-
Must be willing to complete N95 Mask fit testing during the training

Vulnerable Sector Check
-
English (oral and written) fluency is a must
-
At least one year of security experience in a team lead role
-
Minimum two year of security experience in healthcare environment
-
Post-Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college
-
Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
-
Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
-
Legally authorized to work in Canada
-
Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
-
Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
