Some of what you will do
As the Senior Director of Product Management, you will own the overall roadmap and strategy for the experience and platforms that power Staples Digital properties. You will drive architectural, organizational, and process maturation that matches the growth of the business and supports the future-state vision. You will lead Product Managers, Software Development Engineers, User Experience Designers and interact with other cross functional teams to implement and deliver tools and processes to meet business needs. Each day will be fast paced, challenging, rewarding and meaningful.
Specifically, you will:
Define the strategy for the Staples.ca, StaplesPreferred.ca, StaplesProfessional.ca, and Eway.ca product roadmaps, conduct planning sessions to execute roadmaps, and serve as primary liaison for communicating roadmaps to business stakeholders.
Own and develop relationships with various vendor partners, including influencing roadmaps, and managing budgets
Be the go-to-person and key product expert, evangelist, and advocate for initiatives and projects.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal customers and stakeholders to gather, synthesize, and understand business requirements and define and execute product roadmaps and assess customer satisfaction with products.
Stay informed of industry trends and best practices for current products to shape how to go about meeting business needs while performing research and providing recommendations for enhancements to current suite of products.
Develop the strategy, process and plans to ensure all lines of business and categories are represented on Staples.ca, StaplesPreferred.ca, StaplesProfessional.ca, and Eway.ca while delivering on the business plans
Ensure that budget is achieved on a weekly basis and leverage data sources, analytics, A/B testing and customer feedback to improve the overall experience and metrics of the business in the long term
Work with the product management teams to ensure that automation, ML and AI are leveraged in key merchandising areas ensuring a hyper-targeted experience for our consumers.
Some of what you need
10+ years’ experience in a related field
5+ years’ experience building and leading a high performing organization
5+ years’ hands-on technical experience
5+ years’ experience at an eCommerce company
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science
MBA an asset
Experience with both Agile and Scrum from a Product Owner Perspective
Demonstrated success in working within cross functional teams and effective project management and analytical/decision-making skills
Open-source technologies, public/private cloud technologies
Previous working experience in AI systems is plus
