As the Building Operator at Hillcrest Mall, you will assist with Building Services contracts for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, controls, elevators/escalators and fire protection systems through an effectively planned preventative maintenance program, energy management program and regular daily site inspections. You have strong fundamentals in Operating & Information technology and technical systems architecture.
In this role, you will assist the Operations Supervisor and Manager in developing and carrying out Capital projects and provide support with preparing the annual Operational budget. You will liase with Head office to carry out Tenant Coordination of construction and buildout.
To ensure success in this role, you will be able to balance preventative work requests and tasks, work with complex Electrical/Mechanical System Operations, meet tight deadlines, and work in a large, fast-paced environment.

As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for:
Effectively maintaining day to day operations for electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, controls, elevator and fire alarm systems
Answering Tenant Calls and prioritizing work requests to assign to staff
Maintaining a preventative maintenance program through the Angus system emphasizing energy efficiency, equipment life cycle, and regulatory/environmental guidelines
Performing Site inspections, equipment inspections, and instituting recommendations and corrective actions
Monitoring building operating and information technologies systems
Assisting the Operations Supervisor and Manager in the development and deployment of energy management initiatives and capital projects
Assisting Head Office with Tenant Coordination for site tenant construction inspections, coordinating mall work with tenant contractors (Fire Protection systems, roof work, after hour/hot work permits), maintaining tenant contractor construction documentation, and reviewing and approving Mechanical & Electrical Drawings.
Assist with both Internal and External customer requests as required (marketing, Administration office, leasing, etc.)
Perform Landscaping requirements for both interior and exterior aspects of the property
Tile cutting and setting, dry wall patching, painting, and other duties as assigned
To succeed in this role, you have:
Minimum 3-5 years of work-related experience
Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Building or Electrical Sciences
Automation & Networks Fundamentals
BES 1 & 2
FMA Designation
Educational background in Construction Project Management, Facility Management, Fire Protection Systems or a RPA Designation are preferred
