Job description
Academy Petroleum Industries is currently looking for a Journeyman welder for our welding division. We are a fast-paced shop, and the successful candidate will produce as needed to fulfill both internal and external customer orders.
The ideal candidate will be a B pressure welder with Wellhead and BOP repair and manufacturing experience. Mechanical aptitude and positive attitude, have a valid class 5 (non-GDL) drivers license.

Required Experience/Education:
5 + years
- Up to date F3/F4 ticket
- Safety – work safely around the hazards associated with the Oil and Gas industry and machining shop.
- buffing, grinding, cutting, welding. operation of manual, automated and semi-automated equipment
- Tools – use hand, electric, pneumatic tools and in a safe manner.
- Lift, carry, and hold building materials and supplies.
- Welding at a wheel and in position.
- Sub arc experience
- Experience with welding 4130 and other low alloy materials
