About The Role
Ashton Mechanical Group is growing! We are currently hiring for a Plumbing Foreman to join our team! Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects on schedule and within budget. Your primary responsibility will be providing oversight and guidance to our field staff, subcontractors, and General Contractors (GC), while strictly adhering to Ashton's standards and industry codes. Your commitment to exceeding client expectations and driving continuous improvement will be instrumental in contributing to the overall success of our projects.

- Our Mechanical Construction Team specializes in new construction projects valued between $250,000 to $5 million across all industries including commercial, residential, and industrial
- Our Commercial Team has service contracts with over 300 buildings and complete service, maintenance, replacement, and installation work year-round
- Our Residential Team services homes throughout the Lower Mainland, completing around 10,000 service calls and 600 installations per year
Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Ashton safety policies by conducting all required safety meetings, hazard assessments, site orientations, and safety documentation
- Collaborate with management before project begins to discuss job costing, drawings, hazards, and schedule etc...
- Verify accuracy of crew timecards, packing slips, gravel slips to ensure the correct job numbers and cost codes
- Inspect materials delivered to site, confirm correct quantities, sizes, specifications, and quality, and promptly notifying the office of any discrepancies
- Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager, and provide consistent updates
- Proactively write up and issue RFI's to the Project Manager when required
- Maintain organized set of drawings, SI's, CO's and Shop Drawings
- Monitor the work performance and efficiency of field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to project plan, schedule, and budget
- Organize necessary equipment for the day's work at the beginning of each shift; conduct a thorough inspection of the site at day's end to ensure no tools have been left out
- Act as a bridge between the Project Management team and the Field team; provide timely reports of potential problems, interferences, or scheduling difficulties
Qualifications and Requirements
- Red Seal Journeyman ticket in Plumbing (or relevant piping trade) and Gas B Certification
- 10+ years of experience in the mechanical industry, including 5 years in a leadership role
- Showcase a portfolio with 3-5 projects completed in the last 10 years
- In depth knowledge of construction site processes (equipment, quality management, OHS), especially large institutional new construction
- Strong communication, time management, and multitasking skills to effectively prioritize workloads and project demands
- Ability to analyze and understand construction drawings, associated documentation, cost coding systems, and work breakdown structures
- Exhibit a customer-focused and resourceful mindset
- Previous safety training and/or leadership training is an asset
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment of the trade
- Comprehensive knowledge of BC Plumbing Code
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Possess a clean driving record and valid Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a criminal record check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00-$54.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
