Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency calls, providing essential first aid and stabilization for patients in various settings
- Assess patient conditions quickly, utilizing medical terminology to accurately document injuries or illnesses
- Administer medications and treatments as authorized and within scope of practice, following established protocols
- Assist with patient transport, ensuring safe handling and heavy lifting techniques when moving individuals to medical facilities or ambulances
- Communicate clearly with emergency services, hospital staff, and team members to relay critical information during incidents
- Maintain detailed records of all patient interactions, treatments administered, and incident reports with transparency and accuracy
- Support hospital staff by providing patient care assistance, including basic procedures and comfort measures as needed
Requirements
- Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient care procedures and medical terminology
- Ability to administer medications safely and effectively under supervision or protocol guidelines
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during emergencies
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with emergency responders, patients, and team members
- Certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as CPR or First Aid are advantageous
- Willingness to work 2 weeks in, 2 weeks out at a remote camp
- Class 5 driver's license equivalent or greater
