Intermediate/Senior Architectural Technologist, Job Posting
Position: Intermediate/Senior Architectural Technologist
Location: Hamilton, Ontario
Who We Are
At Invizij, we don’t just design buildings—we design communities people love. We’re an 18-person team based in Hamilton, Ontario, nationally recognized for Passive House design and affordable housing. Sustainability, creativity, and collaboration aren’t buzzwords here—they’re how we approach every project, from concept to construction.
We’re growing thoughtfully and looking for someone ready to leave their mark on meaningful, people-centered architecture. If you thrive in a curious, collaborative studio where your expertise is valued and your ideas make a difference, you’ll fit right in.
The Role
We’re looking for an Intermediate or Senior Architectural Technologist to join our team as a technical leader. You’ll mentor junior staff, provide guidance on construction documentation and detailing, and be a trusted collaborator for clients, contractors, and consultants. Nearly all projects are Revit-based, so solid experience with BIM is essential.
This isn’t just another tech role—you’ll help shape how we work, ensure excellence on every project, and contribute to building a studio culture we can all be proud of.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the production of drawing packages for permits and construction, with an eye for detail
- Working on a range of project types, and multiple projects at a time
- Coordinating with consultants, and liaising with clients and authorities having jurisdiction
- Participating in or leading client and team meetings
- Sharing your technical expertise and mentoring junior staff
- Conducting site reviews, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration
- Supporting studio standards, BIM management, and technical best practices
- Helping keep projects on schedule and on budget
- Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative studio culture
What We’re Looking For
● 5+ years of architecture experience
● A motivated individual with leadership experience with architects, technologists, and designers
● Deep technical knowledge: high level of proficiency with the latest version of Revit is essential
● Strong Knowledge with Ontario Building Code, CCDC contracts, technical specifications, and permitting
- Efficient and independent, requiring minimal direct oversight in day-to-day work
- Organized and able to work on multiple projects at one time
● Passion for sustainable design (Passive House experience is a plus)
● Clear communication skills for both client and team interactions
● An effective collaborator commited to mentorship, innovation, and inclusion
Why You’ll Love Working Here
● Work on meaningful, people-centered projects that make a real impact
● Shape your own professional growth through a skills-based approach
● Collaborate with a close-knit, curious, and creative team
● Help design a more resilient, sustainable future for our communities
● Join a culture committed to equality, inclusion, and belonging
- Diverse, inclusive, and safety-oriented culture
- Competitive compensation and benefits plan
