We have an immediate opening in the Calgary Market for a Weekend Night Shift Tooling Room Operator.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday night shifts (6:30PM to 7:00AM) - Extra $1.00/hour night-shift premium + work 36 hours and get paid for a 40-hour shift!

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to work 4-8 weeks on Monday to Thursday on either or day shift (6:45AM to 5:15PM) or night shift (5:00PM to 3:30AM) for training purposes.

What will you be doing in the Tooling Room Operator (Weekend Shift) position?

This position is responsible for supporting production through the creation of the required tooling in the plant to produce quality products at or below standard cost.

This Operator position will report directly to the Plant Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team. The role will be based out of our Calgary, AB facility.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Mechanical ability in operating sharpeners, and power saws.
Understand company safety regulations and relevant occupational health and safety legislation.
Understanding machine processes, paperwork systems, and quality standards within the plant.
Demonstrated problem solving capabilities.
Effective Communication for General Production staff and ability to work with operators, and management.
Proactivity, creativity and initiative for continually reducing down time, fall down and working to improve General Production workers, and Operators knowledge and skills.
First Aid, and CPR training

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining tooling to support the production schedule as well as general maintenance.
Promotion of teamwork amongst the entire plant to keep operations efficient.
Read, understand, and follow all Safe Work Practices for machinery and equipment.
Creating tools to exact drawing specifications.
