Bridge Painter - Quesnel, BC
Who We Are
QIS rehabilitates critical infrastructure using specialized industrial techniques. We're building our field crew for an upcoming bridge repair & coating project in Quesnel, BC. We need experienced Bridge Painters who know structural steel bridge work specifically — not just general industrial coating — with thin film application expertise.
The Work
Hands-on field work on a civil infrastructure project — applying protective coating systems to bridge steelwork exposed to the outdoors year-round.
- Apply primer, intermediate & topcoat systems via airless spray, plus brush/roller cut-in and touch-up
- Hold WFT/DFT to spec, including thin film systems where film-build control matters most
- Read surface profile and confirm spec compliance before coating
- Work within engineered containment and hoarding systems
- Support QA/QC checks, DFT verification, field documentation
- Operate, care for, and maintain equipment daily
- Work outdoors in varying weather, rotational schedule
Experienced Candidates Will Have
- Proven bridge painting experience, ideally on rehab / civil infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated ability to hold film thickness tolerances, incl. thin film systems
- Familiarity with SSPC surface prep standards and MoTI/MSS coating requirements
- Comfort operating airless spray rigs, compressors, air dryer skid systems
- Solid understanding of jobsite safety, safe work plans, hazard ID
- Experience in demanding outdoor environments and rotational schedules
- Required tickets: fall protection, confined space, respiratory protection, or lead abatement awareness
Who We're Looking For
Tradespeople with real bridge painting experience — not just general industrial coating. People who know structural steel, understand bridge access and outdoor exposure demands, and can work independently and get it right under pressure.
