Class 1 Roll-Off Truck Driver – Vegreville, AB
Quest Disposal & Recycling is hiring a full-time, permanent Class 1 Roll-Off Truck Driver based from our Vegreville yard.
This is steady, year-round work for an experienced Class 1 driver who wants consistent hours and normally returns to Vegreville at the end of each shift. The position involves operating a roll-off truck and pup trailer throughout Alberta.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver, exchange and remove roll-off containers at customer sites
- Haul waste and recyclable materials to landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities
- Operate a roll-off truck and pup trailer
- Connect and disconnect the pup trailer
- Tarp, secure and inspect loads before transport
- Safely position containers at commercial and industrial sites
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Report equipment defects, container damage and unsafe site conditions
- Keep assigned equipment clean and well cared for
- Follow company safety procedures, customer-site requirements and hours-of-service regulations
Schedule
- Primarily Monday to Friday
- Early-morning start times that vary by assignment
- Shifts average approximately 12.5 hours and may be up to 14 hours
- Up to 70 on-duty hours per seven-day cycle
- Some weekend work may be required depending on operational needs
- Drivers normally return to Vegreville after each shift
Applicants must be able to reliably report to the Vegreville yard for early starts. Living within approximately 30 minutes of Vegreville is preferred.
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s Licence
- Class 1 commercial driving experience
- Relevant industrial or truck-and-trailer combination experience preferred
- Five-year commercial driver’s abstract showing no current demerit points
- Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Able to complete a physical abilities test
- Comfortable working long shifts and occasional weekends
- Physically capable of climbing on equipment, handling tarps and securement equipment, connecting a pup trailer and working outdoors in changing Alberta weather
- Manual transmission experience is preferred but not required
Our fleet includes automatic, 13-speed and 18-speed trucks and is equipped with electronic logging devices and dash cameras.
Previous roll-off experience is not required. We are looking for an experienced Class 1 driver who demonstrates good judgment, honesty, reliability, safe driving habits and respect for equipment and coworkers.
