We're hiring two Project Coordinators to run the transactional side of our sales desk so our reps can stay in front of customers.
You'll build the quote. Issue the PO. Confirm the release, the heat numbers, the delivery date. Chase the carrier when the truck is late and tell the customer before they call you. Every file you touch gets closed complete.
This is an operational role, not an administrative one. You'll carry twenty-plus open transactions at any time and you're expected to know the status of all of them without being asked.
What you'll do
- Prepare accurate quotes from project specs, source supplier pricing, and manage revisions and version control
- Generate and track purchase orders; verify pricing, quantities, grades, and delivery terms against the quote
- Coordinate pipe releases from mills, distributors, and inventory — confirming quantities, heat numbers, and schedule
- Arrange trucking and freight, issue BOLs, obtain PODs, and manage delivery commitments
- Serve as day-to-day contact for customers on active orders, providing proactive status updates
- Maintain quote logs, PO registers, and release trackers, and keep transaction records complete and accurate
What we're looking for
- 2+ years in inside sales, order desk, or project coordination within distribution — steel, pipe, industrial supply, building products, or oilfield
- Direct hands-on experience building quotes and issuing purchase orders as a core job function
- Strong attention to detail with specifications, grades, sizes, and quantities — accuracy on the first pass matters here
- Comfortable coordinating freight and holding carriers and suppliers to committed dates
- Confident communicating directly with customers, including when the news isn't good
- Proficient with ERP or inventory systems and Excel
Familiarity with OCTG, line pipe, or mill test reports is a strong asset. If you've run a busy order desk in an adjacent industry and you're meticulous, we'd still like to hear from you — tell us why in your application.
What we offer
- Competitive salary based on experience
- [Benefits package — health, dental, etc.]
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and a real say in how the desk runs
Location note: Saskatoon ( + surrounding area ) and Calgary, but we'll consider strong candidates elsewhere in Saskatchewan. Please tell us where you're based and what your office arrangement would look like.
Pay: $45,567.29-$85,384.76 per year
Benefits:
- Dental care
- Extended health care
- Paid time off
- Vision care
