Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Controls & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for all maintenance tasks and technical support involving these systems. Critical equipment and activities would include all aspects of energy and fluids systems (Boilers, Chillers, HVAC, Water Treatment, Electrical Distribution, etc.), the site PLC-based systems and any automated equipment in the operating departments. The technician is responsible for the Building Automation System(s) where their duties will not only include operations but also seeking efficiencies and monitoring the system for alarms or out-of-spec situations and providing improvement ideas and initiatives. The C&I technician is the primary diagnostician for all complex electronic or automated equipment at the facility and works closely with third party support in these fields.

Role and Responsibilities
Accurately documenting all tasks and work through checklists, inspection forms, and the CMMS.
Execute repairs and inspections on various systems relating to this area of expertise.
Operating and maintaining automation software related to Building Automation System (BAS), including specific room environmental controls.
Ensuring proper operation of equipment controlled through BAS (Boilers, HVAC, Water Treatment, etc.)
Conduct required reactive, corrective and preventive maintenance routines on relevant equipment.
Lead corrective maintenance, calibration and preventive maintenance routines for site instrumentation (temperature/pressure transmitters, level switches, control valves, actuators, solenoids, etc.) and controls equipment (control panels, VFDs, etc.)
Building and installing miscellaneous items as required
Support on-site Electricians and third party contractors as required.
Support departmental and site initiatives as required.
Ensuring completion and documentation of all other tasks assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
Must hold an active, and in good standing, tradesman ticket/designation relating to these fields.
Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience
Preference to experience in a Production Facility/Maintenance setting.
Must have knowledge and experience with DDC, DCS, BAS, or BMS process control software
Experience with CMMS is recommended
Proven ability to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail
Must be organized and able to document all work
Proven ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Applications is required
